i'm not quite right in the head.

never have been, but it's a bit worse than normal at the mo.
i'm just really, really tired, and really bad at actually doing anything to change it.
but i'm trying.
and i'm going to see someone about it, to help me stop beating myself up for not living up to my ridiculously high standards.
but i will post again here soon, promise. just give me another week or two?
in the meantime i have updated facts about me.
and is it bad if i tell you about my wishlist?
you shouldn't buy me anything from it, really. my reading pile is up to the ceiling.
but it was our wedding anniversary two weeks ago. and it's my blogoversary today. and it's my birthday in 12 days. so you can choose a reason if you want to send me something.
in the meantime. hope you are all well. do say hi in the comments.
and i will be back in a week or two.

It was a 'w' day in town today. I went for a sWim, then called in to FenWicks, then Waterstones, then to Woolies, and lastly Wilkos.

I didn't go into the newsagents to pick up the paper I was after, because that would have had nothing to do with any 'w's. (The Guardian, for the free poetry booklet, if you were wondering. I'm about to go and pick that up now.)

I have been having a rather stressful time recently. Nothing awful, nothing in particular; just too much to do and too many people to worry about and not coping quite as well as usual. I'm going to take a break from this place for a few days, because 'you haven't written a blog post!' is one of the things I keep beating myself up about; my blog's first birthday is on 30th March, though, so I'll be back before then. I might pop in and update the 'about me' section though - that needs a few updates - but if I do I'll give you a heads up.

Hope you're all well. Feel free to chat in the comment box while you wait for me to post again :)

So I'm curious.

If I said I was 'nebby' or 'having a neb' would you know what I meant?

Ourman, being the only commenting reader in Newcastle, has proved my theory that it's a dialectal word. 'Nebby' is nosy, and 'having a neb' means having a nose through something you shouldn't really. To me, it's slightly milder than nosy - nosy is a bit more insulting, to me, but that might be an incorrect interpretation.

Like I said before, there's still quite a lot of Geordie dialect out there.

I'm aware that noone here loves Nine Inch Nails like I do, but I still need to share that I'm about to die of excitement because boy can Trent keep a secret. How can you just suddenly have an album out without doing anything more than say 'two weeks' two weeks ago to announce it?

Sorry. Will calm down now. I'm far too excited for a Monday morning now.

Northumberland Street

I remembered the other day that Northumberland Street used to have traffic on it. Two lanes, either edge. By the time I moved here (originally in 1994) they weren't used by anything but police cars and taxis, I think, but I'd forgotten that they were even there.

Anyone who can find a photo of this will win my undying admiration.
